Goderdzi Ski Resort

Goderdzi Ski Resort

Opened on December 5, 2015, Goderdzi Resort is located about 110 km (around a two-hour drive) from Batumi. Set high in the Arsiani Range, the resort lies where subtropical Black Sea influences meet a mountainous continental climate. The base area sits at roughly 1,700 meters, below the tree line, giving it a calm, welcoming feel year-round, while the surrounding slopes rise to 2,364 meters above sea level.
Thanks to its elevation and proximity to the Black Sea, Goderdzi enjoys reliable and abundant snowfall. Snow usually covers the mountains from November through April, with average depths of 3–4 meters and peaks reaching up to 6–7 meters in heavy winters. The moist air creates dense, high-quality snow with large flakes, making the resort particularly attractive for freeride and off-piste skiing.

So, why should you choose Goderdzi & Georgia for skiing?

Because:
– It is very easily accessible from Europe (cheap flights to Kutaisi & Tbilisi, short distance to resort)
– Georgia and Goderdzi is one of the cheapest and affordable places to live and travel to
– High altitude of resort in proximity to the black sea ensures excellent quality powder snow
– Comparatively new resort with new and limited infrastructure guarantees smaller crowds and freedom
– Exotic, post-soviet country in the middle of Europe and Asia, offers a great combination of skiing, travel-exploration and fun 🙂

Accomodation & Apres Ski

The range of accommodation is already quite varied, both within the resort and in nearby villages. For those who prefer to stay directly on the resort grounds, renting a cottage is the most common and convenient choice. These cottages are well equipped with essential household appliances, central heating, and free Wi-Fi, and many also offer dedicated storage space for skis.

The Goderdzi resort is still developing so infrastructure and leisure activities are somewhat limited. In the high season most accommodations are overbooked and therefore somewhat pricey. If you travel with your vehicle, staying in nearby villages like  Danisparauli, located just 3 kilometers from the resort, is recommended. It already has numerous family guesthouses where prices tend to be lower and often include two meals per day.

Apart from family guesthouses and hotel like cottages there is one large 5 star hotel complex Ambassadori Goderdzi Hotel. It offers spa services (pool, saunas, outdoor hot tubs, etc) as well as a restaurant and bar for après ski leisure.
